Child Safety and Wellbeing Information

The Latrobe Valley Eisteddfod is committed to Child Safety.

We have established a Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy and Procedures to state in detail how we aim to ensure child safety, and how we will deal with any concerns raised by children or others about child safety.

The current Child Safety Officer is Mr Shane Moore, the current President of the organisation. He may be contacted by email at: president@lve.org.au

Some key points of our Child Safety and Wellbeing policy and procedure are:

- All children have the right to feel safe and be protected from harm or abuse while participating in the Eisteddfod.
- If any person believes a child is at immediate risk of abuse, to immediately contact police and also tell a member of the Committee or the Child Safety Officer.
- We educate our volunteers about prevention and detection of child abuse. They are required to abide by our Code of Conduct.
- We require all volunteers to have a current working with children check (WWCC).
- If an investigation finds an offence has occurred, disciplinary action will be taken.
